The causes of neck pain can be very serious indeed, especially after an accident or injury. Neck pain accompanied by a fever could indicate meningitis so you must always use your Dr as the first point of call. In the case of suspected Meningitis, make seeing your Dr a matter of urgency.
In this article, I will discuss what was causing my neck pain. It didn’t come into the category of serious but never the less it was debilitating, interfering with me doing the things I liked. Most of all it prevented me from working which cost me money. I had trouble getting any sleep at all, what with the pain and worry about work.
Stress – a common neck pain cause
Stress is a common cause of neck pain which can be coupled with headaches starting in the back and sometimes going to the front of the head. I can go into volumes speaking from experience on what is needed to get on top of stress but there are simple ways to kick start your journey to recovery.
Some Ways to get Neck Pain Relief
Change your eating. More Vegetables and fruit, less coffee and alcohol.
Vitamin B supplements. Hold off on those energy drinks.
Water. Say No to sugar drinks. Get your sugar hit from fruit. Still cheaper than chocolate.
Getting some exercise. Even a short walk each day.
Heat packs help relax the neck muscles.
Relaxation tapes are everywhere. Do it. Your whole body with benefit.
It’s amazing how your life will improve by making changes to things I have mentioned. Don’t forget there many things you can do to improve. Keep reading and exploring.
Remember this, If you keep doing a little more good to your body each day it will become a habit, and the more you do the more you want to do. That is how it happened for me and it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Truth! It wasn’t long before the neck pain was less frequent and nowhere near as intense.
Your body can heal itself as long as you are putting the right stuff in. When is comes to neck pain emanating from injury or overuse, your body is the best tool in the healing process. Feed it well. Painkillers sometimes are good short term, but best to cure the problem don’t mask it. I won’t go into detail about the damage prolonged use of painkillers can cause. I shudder! Now is the time to start. Get rid of that neck pain.
